WHY WE LOVE THIS COFFEE // Last year our importer, StoneX, lost a very special team member, Maya Gray, San Diego’s golden mascot of happiness and official Very Good Girl. After 11 years of greeting guests with cozy knee-high hugs, bringing undeniable elegance to the office, with her matching bandanas and bows, and spear-heading the Potluck Clean-Up Crew, They were forced to say goodbye far too soon. In Maya’s memory, a donation was made to the National Canine Cancer Foundation. Additionally, StoneX decided to make this one-time tribute coffee, featuring their beautiful girl on the bag. Mexico NKG Bloom Maya was grown in the Fraylesca region, in central Chiapas. This region is home to 460 coffee producers who primarily speak their indigenous Tzotzil language; 26 percent of them are women. These smallholder coffee producers cultivate Sarchimor, Costa Rica 95, Marsellesa, Obata, Caturra, Bourbon and Marago in natural shade, preserving the existing ecosystem, rich with native plants and animals.
